Rapid, quantitative infection testing

The WHO estimates that by 2050 up to 10 million people worldwide will die each year from antibiotic-resistant microorganisms. Improper use of antibiotics, inadequate hygiene measures and increasing trade and travel encourage the spread of resistant pathogens.

The clear differentiation between bacterial and viral infections at the Point-Of-Care will contribute significantly to the reduction of antibiotic resistance. Anvajos diagnostic solution analyses various infection parameters such as CRP (C-reactive protein), leukocyte concentration and PCT (procalcitonin) using spectroscopy and microscopy techniques. The quantitative, validated results are available within a few minutes.  The collection of blood is based on the capillary blood collection technique. Only 10 microliters of blood from the finger tip of the patient is needed for the analysis.

CRP

C-reactive protein (CRP) is an acute-phase protein that is produced in the liver during inflammation. Since a bacterial infection leads to a greater increase in CRP levels than a viral-induced inflammatory reaction, measurements of CRP levels in whole blood can help us differentiate between viral and bacterial infections in patients. This will enable physicians and paediatricians to make more accurate diagnoses.

With sensitivity and specificity in line with traditional lab instruments and quantitative CRP-results that show a strong correlation with low standard deviation, the fluidlab meets international regulatory requirements. Please contact us for further information.

Haemoglobin (Hb) and COHb

The determination of haemoglobin (Hb) and Hb derivatives for carbon monoxide intoxication is considered to be a precise indicator of the general health status of an individual. With the anvajo fluidlab, Hb tests can be performed immediately and in front of the patient allowing physicians to make diagnostic decisions at the time of visit.

With sensitivity and specificity similar to that of traditional lab instruments and quantitative Hb-results that show a strong correlation with low standard deviation, the fluidlab meets international regulatory requirements.  Blood collection is based on the capillary blood collection technique and 10 microliters is all that is needed for analysis.
