overview
Optical performance for
diverse analytical workflows
fluidlab 2 combines high-resolution digital microscopy with full-range spectrometry in a single compact system. With dual microscopy sensors and three onboard spectrometers, it supports multimodal analysis across a wide range of samples, assays and workflows.
Microscopy
Label-free imaging and digital classification
fluidlab 2 uses two digital holography sensors to capture high-contrast images of liquid samples. Depending on the trained software model, it can detect, count or classify cells, particles and other microscopic structures.
Key capabilities:
- Quantitative, stain-free analysis
- Supports a wide range of liquid samples
- Software-based classification for flexible outputs (counts, morphology, particle type, custom metrics)

Spectrometry
Full-spectrum measurements
for liquid assays
With three integrated spectrometers, fluidlab 2 performs parallel measurements across 360–700 nm. It supports colorimetric, turbidimetric and kinetic assays, enabling quantitative analysis of various reactions and sample types.
Key capabilities:
- Three parallel full-spectrum channels
- Compatible with colorimetric, turbidimetric and kinetic assays
- Works with standard or custom cuvette formats
applications
Versatile use across diagnostic and research workflows
| Analysis of body fluids such as urine, blood, plasma, saliva or other fluids, using optical or image-based techniques | Microscopic examination of liquid samples to detect and classify particles or other structures |
| Quantification of clinical parameters with liquid reagent assays (e.g., protein levels, metabolite concentrations) | Standard laboratory measurements, such as OD600 for microbial growth tracking |
| Monitoring of reaction kinetics for enzymatic, chemical or immunological processes | Multichannel liquid testing using three-sample parallel setups for screening or replication |
| Turbidity-based detection of particles, aggregates or immune complexes |
