Erik Klapproth, PhD

Technical University Dresden

"The fluidlab is a great method for cell counting because it is small, you have it in or next to the bench and you can pipette it directly onto the sample carrier acella. The workflow is the same as with the Neubauer counting chamber, but ten times faster and more convenient."

Juliane Hannemann, PhD

Eppendorf University Medical Center, Hamburg

"What we really like about the fluidlab, is that it can be operated intuitively. It is kept simple so that anyone new to the lab can use it. We also like that it gives very reproducible results when measuring a sample multiple times."

Patrick Rüdiger

Technical Assistant, BASF

"In direct comparison, I actually prefer the fluidlab R-300, simply because it gives me the same reliable results as my reference photometers, but in my laboratory it can be below the bench. In our case, the photometers are located two or three laboratories down the hall. So I don't have to go to another laboratory."

Prof. Shu-Chuan Liao

National Taiwan University

"The fluidlab can be used for cell culture and bacterial cultivation at the same time, which is very convenient. The device is easy to handle, we get fast results, the measurement can be performed independent from the location and the instrument does not take up much space beneath the sterile workbench."

Device

The fluidlab R-300 uses the label-free technique of digital holographic microscopy (DHM) to analyze cell number and viability directly in the cell culture environment. Contrary to brightfield microscopy, DHM does not use optical lenses but generates so-called ‘holograms’ of the cells, which are analyzed by a computer.

acella sample carrier

The acella, a proprietary sample carrier format that uses a glass substrate, is the optimal multi-purpose slide for your cell counting and viability assessment. It comes in three different chamber heights (20µm, 50µm, and 100µm) to ensure the best possible results from measurements of very small and large cells or heterogeneous cell samples.

FAQs

Contact us by phone (+49 (0) 351 85478422) or e-mail (info@anvajo.com) and arrange a personal demonstration appointment. Our product specialists will come directly to your laboratory and you can test the fluidlab R-300 for free. Several times a year we also exhibit at national and international trade fairs. Follow us on LinkedInfacebookinstagram and twitter to make sure you don't miss a chance to exchange ideas with our team on site.

Our spectrometer is linear in the value range 0 - 2.5 with a photometric accuracy of 0.01 or 1 %. The spectrum can be captured between 375 nm and 700 nm, with a spectral resolution of less than 2 nm. Further information can be found in the performance report of the spectrometer.

Our Cell Counter shows a high correlation (99% accuracy, coefficient of determination R²=0.9956) both with the manual method (Neubauer chamber) and with established automated cell counters.

The determination of viability is performed with the fluidlab R-300 staining-free. Cytotoxic effects are eliminated and pre-analytical steps are reduced. This saves valuable time during preanalytics, increases the stability of cells and avoids contact with harmful staining materials.  The differentiation of dead and living cells works based on our innovative optics identifying the refractive index of cells. The adequate visualisation of the viability application, can be found in our product video.

With a flexible adapter system, the fluidlab R-300 supports both standard cuvettes for spectrophotometric measurements and glass sample carriers of different layer strengths for automatic cell counting and staining-free viability determination.
